Bijou Theatre

The Bijou campus projection theater is managed by the Library and Information Resources - Film Services.

As the primary presentation and projection classroom for the Film/Video School, F/V School classes and programs that rely on projection are given scheduling priority. All schools and departments may schedule the Bijou for classes, visiting artists and other presentations. Priority is given to classes that require multi-media support or for groups larger than 50.

Faculty can request to schedule the Bijou for a semester long course. Please submit requests to Film Services' manager in August for the Fall semester and in December for the Spring semester. Please notify us if the Bijou is not needed for a class on a particular day, so the time may be scheduled for other uses.

Faculty, staff, students and alumni can request to schedule the Bijou for a specific time and day. Submit your request to Film Services' manager at least 1 week in advance. Scheduling confirmation will depend on the availability of the facility and of a projectionist.

The Bijou Use Fee is $13.00 per hour (includes a projectionist / operator). If equipment and a projectionist are not needed, there is no use fee. Departments and schools are recharged at the end of the semester, unless requested otherwise.

The Bijou Use Fee for after hours is $22.00 per hour. After hours are Monday - Thursday after 10 pm, Friday after 7 pm and during the weekends. During the year end Bijou Festival, which consists of student screenings only, after hours begin at 12midnight.

The Bijou Theater seats 120.

VHS and DVD multi format systems (all region)
¾" U-matic, Laserdisc, Betamax
Betacam / Betacam SP/SX/IMX / Digital Betacam
Mini-DV/S-VHS, DVCAM
Computer video & audio output - 15 pin VGA connector, adapter cable with 5 BNC connectors; adapters to VGA for Power Mac, PowerBook, iBook, or 12-inch PowerBook G4. Audio is stereo RCA Phono connectors, adapter available from 1/8" stereo mini plug

All personal materials projected in the Bijou are shown at the owners' discretion. Damage to any of the materials, however unlikely, cannot be compensated.
